An Unconventional Path to Success

Valentina Arismendi

Honors Carolina student Valentina Arismendi ’21 is known for using her creative talents to produce innovative results.

After being exposed to the Adobe Creative Cloud in her very first class at Carolina, Arismendi quickly became involved with the work of Adobe Systems on college campuses. She has spoken at multiple Adobe conferences, including Adobe MAX 2020, The Creativity Conference last week. Through her excellent presentations and impressive portfolio, she has built strong relationships that have led her on an unconventional path to undergoing a virtual internship program with Adobe this past summer and recently accepting an offer to work with Adobe’s education marketing team full-time upon graduation.

Arismendi credits much of her success at Carolina to the Wood Family Scholarship and to her experience through the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media.

“The Wood Family Scholarship instilled in me this drive to ask myself: ‘What do you want to do next, and what do you have to do to get there?’” said Arismendi. “UNC Hussman has taught me to think through my lead, analyze my target audience, think about how to make them understand my message and always think about what’s next. That applies to anything I do in the future.”
