“We want to grow and provide more support to other areas of the hospital and our clinics, with the ultimate goal of helping families be better advocates and communicators for their children. We’re that support, that listening ear, and that’s a really special privilege.” —Stephanie Mazze, left, Child Life Specialist at UNC Children’s Hospital

Hospital stays, long or short, can be scary for anyone. But for children and their families, it can be a real nightmare. Thankfully, the Child Life Specialists at UNC Children’s are there to do whatever it takes to help and support patients and their families cope with hospitalization.

Completely donor-funded, child life specialists not only calm fears, but also help bring joy and healing to families during difficult times.
