Fulfilling a dream

“It’s going to be a lot of fun. It’s going to be what I’ve dreamed of doing.”

Cordell Corbin’s ’17 career plan all started in front of the television, watching re-enactments of World War II and Vietnam War air-to-air combat. Even though he was just in middle school, he set a goal to become a military pilot.

Carolina was the first step to Corbin earning his wings. As a UNC Naval ROTC midshipman and a physics major, things weren’t always easy for him. But the daily rigor was worth it; Corbin went to Naval flight school after graduation.
