Gift to the Future

“A great library is a depository of information that everybody on campus uses,” said Howard Holsenbeck ’63.

Intrigued by the historical collection at the Wilson Library, Holsenbeck was an avid library-goer during his time at Carolina. To ensure that Carolina’s libraries will continue to provide students with experiences similar to his own, he has included the UNC Libraries in his estate plans.

“Too few people think about the future of their estate,” said Holsenbeck. He wants people to know that without a plan, they lose out on the opportunity to be part of something larger than themselves.

“Everything I give to is bigger than me. Charitable planning for the future is important to me, and it should be for everybody,” he advised. “Think about giving back to Carolina. Remember how important the time you spent here was to you and give back.”
