Historic Experiences

UNC Nursing student administering vaccine.

Health care professionals at Carolina are working tirelessly to administer the COVID-19 vaccine — and so are future health care professionals..

At the UNC Friday Center for Continuing Education, large event spaces have been transformed into what feels like a doctor’s office, where accelerated bachelors of nursing students are gaining valuable hands-on experiences while helping to save lives.

“The time flies by,” said nursing student Mina Kanuksever. “Lots of people are very excited to get their vaccine, and it’s a wonderful opportunity to be a part of such an important aspect of public health.”

“It feels historic,” said student Kevin Donadio.

These students, among others, are part of the Carolina Covid Student Services Corps, a group of more than 1,500 student volunteers who are supporting Carolina Together initiatives during the pandemic.
