Transforming Education

School of Education

The UNC School of Education is creating a new program that will provide a curriculum for students interested in creating solutions and organizational change.

The multidisciplinary major, Human Organizational Leadership and Development (HOLD), is designed for students who are idealistic and motivated to apply the skills they learn in college classrooms to the people and places around them.

“The University is so grounded in the state of North Carolina. As a result, our students are often dedicated to serving their communities.” said Professor Thad Domina, who is leading the program. “We thought UNC needed a full major dedicated to helping these students learn how to develop human and community capacity.”

HOLD will not only provide a valuable experience to students, but it will also broaden the visibility and value of the field of education to more students across Carolina.
