Founded in 1931 as the first Library School in North Carolina, the School of Information and Library Science has led the state and the nation in educating exceptional librarians and shaping the way knowledge has been preserved and shared for almost 90 years.

Today, SILS educates exceptional information professionals, create strategies and tools to steward data and public knowledge and promote information access and use to improve the public good.
