A new source of support for children’s health

Everyone loves it when the ACC and the Big Ten square off on the hardwood, but alumni from the two power conferences have also been hitting the links in Chapel Hill for more than a decade for the annual Governors Club Big Ten-ACC Charity Golf Challenge to raise money for local charities.

The ACC alumni participants have always come up big, but the 2016 event was especially significant, resulting in the first ever endowed chair from a residential community—the Governor’s Club Distinguished Professorship in Pediatric Cardiology.

Dr. Timothy Hoffman, pictured, the Chief of Pediatric Cardiology at UNC Children’s will assume the title of Governor’s Club Distinguished Professor.
