Amy Gladfelter, a quantitative cell biologist and an associate professor of biology, is driven by curiosity to study cells — the smallest units of life. Looking through a microscope she describes cells as bustling around like rush hour in a big city and applies that learning in her lab to help researchers to understand complex diseases like ALS.
