An Evolving Appreciation

“Since then, my appreciation for Carolina has evolved far beyond athletics. There’s so much here that is so important to North Carolina.”

Roger Perry first became infatuated with Carolina at 7, listening to the radio in his family’s eastern North Carolina kitchen as Carolina’s 1957 basketball went undefeated en route to a national championship.

Perry notes his love of Carolina has grown in many ways since his childhood. He earned a political science degree from the University and graduated from the Executive Program at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. He’s seen the great work across the campus as a member of the Board of Trustees and the Carolina First Campaign Steering Committee. And his work as the chair of the Buildings and Grounds Committee, he oversaw nearly $2 billion in new construction that will shape the University for years ahead.

Perry is a member of the Campaign Steering Committee for the Campaign for Carolina.
